Thornbury Bakery

In a world were time is of the essence and convenience rules all, often we juggle way too many thoughts to remember to breathe, let alone think of healthy food choices.

I struggle to eat healthy as most mornings I am rushing out the door and heading out in my car for my 2 hour commute to the office. Convenience usually wins over quality and I am left with food wrappers in my back seat by weeks end. Well I will tell you, those days are over. Since starting Local Harvest I have turned over a new leaf and a vow to make better food choices and support my local community.

One of my new favourite places to go is a little place called the Thornbury Bakery Café in Thornbury, Ontario that has solved my breakfast dilemma. It’s a quaint and inviting little place where everything is freshly baked and prepared. When you walk in, the aroma of baked goods is overwhelming (especially if you are hungry). It reminds me of my childhood and brings back memories of my grandma’s house.

What I love about the bakery is how warm and friendly the staff are. All it takes is a warm smile to set a positive tone for the day.  Now I must confess that I have a weakness for fresh baked cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies that is. Some days they offer breakfast sandwiches and let me tell you they beat out all of the chains by a mile. I hope they make these a regular item on the menu.

If you have been to the Blue Mountains, you have probably ventured to see this beautiful town and the bakery has been one of the staples for tourist of all kinds for the past 15 years.  They are a main supplier for many restaurants in the area including Buddha Dog in Collingwood.

Take my story to heart and find a place like the Thornbury bakery to start your day off or to give you a pick me up at lunch. The food is great but the generosity is worth every penny. Establishments like these can change the world for us road warriors.

I have never had a better

I have never had a better meatloaf sandwhich. Great staf, great food.
